We have been friendly with this Danish design team for 30 years. We love there new bedroom called Tara. Designer Carsten Ovesen, of Carsten Ovesen Design did the actual design work.

In this bedroom they use solid New Zealand pine (Pinus Radiata) which is grown in plantations in the southern, colder, part of the south island of New Zealand. New Zealand has the most developed plantation management system around. New Zealand pine is now used in upper and middle segments of quality furniture making. The wood compares favorably with most other woods and recent research has developed a treatment that can increase its hardness to the level of such wood as mahogany or oak. The tops and side panels of this bedroom uses a special engineered wood called MDF with mahogany veneer.

In addition, the drawers use full extension, heavy duty drawer glides which can hold up to 100 lbs. Plus, the beds have a center support with legs and 14 rolled slats offering a strong bed foundation which eliminates the need for a box spring. Case posts are all solid and the dressers are inside corner blocked, glued & doweled. The drawer fronts, sides and back are all solid. Each drawer has solid wood strips under the bottom for extra strength.
